We are all readers in Room 36!
My language arts program is standards based, which means I use the CCSS to guide all instruction. (For more information about the Common Core State Standards, please click HERE.)
This year, LAUSD adopted a new Language Arts textbook program called Benchmark Advance. For those of you who had become familiar with the Treasures program, this may feel somewhat different, but the Benchmark Advance program is more closely aligned with the Common Core State Standards.

Independent reading practice is VERY important in 4th grade. Please make sure your child is reading for 20 minutes each night. The book should be in their Lexile range -- or a "just right" book.
