Congratulations to the winners of the Classroom Competition phase of the 2018 Engineering Challenge: Joshua, Saniya, Sophie, and Abigail! Our classroom winners will go up against all other 4th grade classroom winners on Friday!
Tomorrow is our field trip to the Autry! Don't forget your lunch.

Today we were working on the Build and Test & Evaluate stages of the Engineering Design Process. Tomorrow morning is our classroom competition. The winner from Room 36 will go on to challenge the winners from the other 4th grade classrooms!

- MATH: Finish Mixed Number Fraction worksheet (p. 540)
- ELA: Close Reading: "Animal Bedtimes" (#33)
- ENGINEERING: Fill out the Create and Improve sections on your blue Engineering Design Process worksheet

Good Afternoon, Room 36!
We started our 4th Grade Engineering Challenge today! Our challenge: How can we create a safe "Mars Rover" that protects the EGG-stronaut, and then travels the farthest distance?
We also watched a video of a REAL Mars Rover, and learned about the amazing planning and imagining that went in to creating a safe Mars landing:

- ELA: Doodle Vocabulary
- ENGINEERING: Fill out sections 1 (Ask), 2 (Imagine), and 3 (Plan) of your Engineering Design Process worksheet

The Endangered Species Project has THREE parts: 1) Research Packet, 2) Essay, and 3) Diorama. Students will be given time to research online at school, but they can also do this at home. The essay will be written in class. The diorama will be an at-home project.
