During the fire/smoke emergency last week, the Main Office realized that they are missing or have incorrect contact information for several Brentwood families. Please fill out the new form and return it to school as soon as possible. ALSO: If there is a parent you would like to give permission to pick up your child -- just in case -- please don't forget to include them on the form.

Good Evening, Room 36 Families!
We've started Chapter 5 in our math, and that means double-digit multiplication. When I was in 4th grade, we all learned one way to solve a problem like 23 x 74 -- using the "old fashioned" standard algorithm. With the Common Core, students are learning several different strategies to solve double-digit multiplication problems. One of the strategies we have been exploring this week is Lattice Multiplication. If you are not familiar with this method, there are several videos on YouTube that explain it -- I have included one here:

The only way for students to bring their independent reading up to grade level (600-900) is to read, read, read! (At their Lexile level)

- FINISH Turkey Pardon reading comprehension
